This course is designed to introduce the DNS concepts and principles to both the clinician and movement specialist as they relate to exercise, sport and fitness training.
We will be going over specific assessments and active exercises that are designed to enhance movement performance, preparation, and rehabilitation.
There will be a specific focus on the Female Surf Athlete with Special guest presenter Candice Land

Course Objectives:

Candice is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Accredited Exercise Scientist and Registered Sports Nutritionist, with over 20 years experience in Exercise Prescription. Candice holds a Bachelor Degree in Sport and Exercise Science, with first class honors, in addition to Post Graduate Certifications in Soft Tissue Injury Management and Sports Nutrition.
Candice is a member of the World Surf League Allied Health Medical Team and has experience working with surfing athletes of both genders, from junior development through to CT level. Her exercise expertise spans the spectrum of injury prevention and injury recovery, to high performance training and as such, her approach combines athlete care with high performance strategies, to ensure athlete wellness, longevity and success in sport. Candice is the founder of The Female Surfer (TM) and The Female Athlete Method (TM) and has developed specific tools, training strategies and resources to support female athletes along with their support staff and coaches. Candice is a valued member of the Australian Surfing Industry, often presenting at Surfing Australia, Seas The Day International Surfing Festival, State Surfing festivals and initiatives, and local board riding clubs up and down the east coast of Australia. Her passion is to support athletes to their greatest potential.
Michael Rintala, D.C. is in private practice in San Diego, California specializing in sports medicine and rehabilitation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego. He graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1997.
The Prague School of Rehabilitation has been an important influence on Dr. Rintala’s approach to patient care. He has been studying the principles and techniques of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization with Prof. Pavel Kolar since 2004.
Dr. Rintala has been part of the Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour Sports Medicine Team since 2004. He is also a treating doctor for the World Surf League (WSL), and part of the USA Surfing Performance Committee. He has been involved with a wide variety of other organizations ranging from Dance to Action Sports.
Dr. Rintala is one of the Prague School of Rehabilitation Primary Instructors teaching Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) in the United States. He is also a DNS Certified Exercise Trainer (DNSET).
